Long term care is the process of caring for a sick or disabled person for an extended length of time.  Two thirds of individuals over the age of 65 will probably need LTC during their lifetimes.  Most people can not afford a LTC insurance policy. Several large insurers recognized this dilemma--and have created policies that combined the benefits of life insurance and long-term care insurance.
